Job Overview
Georgetown’s Facilities Management is in a transformative state as it invests in technologies, processes and resources to implement asset / lifecycle-based management practices over its major investments in buildings, building systems, automated systems controls and major equipment components.
The Facilities Coordinator goes into the field and meets with building managers and contractors, serving as the eyes and ears of the campus, and as the gatekeeper for any work started, proving constant communication with technicians, supervisors, building managers and service contractors.
Work Interactions
Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Logistics, the Facilities Coordinator has ongoing interaction during the day with supervisors to review schedule(s), incoming requests and future workload.
They communicate routinely with the Assistant Director of Logistics to review work for the week, and directly support the planned communications to the community and Director of Maintenance and Operations to review the weekly TMA Dashboards.
As well, they meet with Service Contractors on work being performed and ensure planned scope of work is completed to University standards; and hold bi-weekly meetings with Residential Services on the topic of maintenance issues.
Qualifications
- High School diploma - preference for an Associate's degree
- 3 to 5 years of experience - preference for 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible experience in facilities management
- Demonstrated ability to manage short deadlines, changing priorities, and following disciplined workflow processes
- Knowledge of building systems and equipment
- Computer knowledge, including Microsoft Suite and CMMS systems – preference for TMA System
- Willingness to carry a smartphone and respond to inquiries as needed - including off-hours if emergencies arise
