FACILITIY ENGINEER
The Mayerson JCC provides the Jewish and secular communities of Greater Cincinnati with resources, facilities, and programs which enhance their physical, intellectual, and social lives. The JCC helps to foster social connections between its members and guests alike, bringing people together through a wide variety of programs and events. With a state-of-the-art fitness center, highly regarded early childhood and senior centers, top arts and cultural events, and classes for every age, the JCC connects, enriches, and inspires over 27,000 visitors per month. POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Facility Director, the Lead Maintenance Technician takes on a lead role in ensuring proper maintenance and appearance of the entire JCC campus. This includes but is not limited to backend systems, front of house appearance, and exterior grounds. To achieve the goals of facility maintenance this position will work closely with other employees in the Building Services department, third party vendors, and other agency and community staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensure the operation and functionality of all backend (especially HVAC, air handles, boilers, chillers, and aquatics systems) and frontend systems.
- In coordination with the Facility Director, help determine project workflow by generating and maintaining project/work lists for the maintenance team.
- Ensure maintenance equipment is in working order.
- Provide guidance in the procurement of the highest quality maintenance materials and services with an eye for controlling costs.
- Perform all necessary maintenance tasks to achieve facility goals including but not limited to light construction, making repairs, painting, and other general maintenance tasks.
- Perform walkthroughs of the facility and grounds. Evaluate problems and coordinate solutions with the Facility Director.
- Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) during weekend shifts. Help solve logistical issues and member concerns during the day to day operation of the agency.
- Be on call at all times in case of a facility maintenance emergency.
- Organize, clean, and help secure mechanical, maintenance, and storage areas.
- Perform spot snow and ice removal duties as required.
- Assist contract service providers in maintaining building systems.
- Support other agency operational departments including events, housekeeping, aquatics, and security.
- Maintain courteous and polite relations with member, guests, and employees.
- Maintain security awareness at all times. Comply with JCC security procedures and guidelines. Report any concerns to agency leadership.
- Follow all JCC employee and member guidelines.
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the Facility Director.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of experience in the maintenance industry.
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC and maintenance systems and best practices.
- High quality standards and attention to detail with ability to anticipate needs and plan accordingly.
- Proven experience in leadership and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
- Willing to work some flexible hours as necessary.
- Strong team player.
- Energetic, self-starter.
- Math skills necessary to complete essential functions required.
- Good organizational skills and planning abilities required.
- Good oral and written communication skills required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
- Must be physically capable of reaching all areas of the JCC as related to job duties.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
