HTI is recruiting Facilities Maintenance Technicians for a Company in the Columbia, SC area. Starting pay is $30.00 Per Hour - $32.62 Per Hour Depending on Experience with pay progressions up to $37.61 Per Hour at Year 2, Comprehensive Benefits Package, Bonus Potential, and Relocation Assistance. This is a Direct Hire Positions on 2nd.

Job Description:

The Utilities Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, and servicing all of the company’s utility and secondary supporting systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the continuous operation and maintenance of the facility HVAC systems.
  • Ensuring the continuous operation and maintenance of the facility water processing and generation systems, including filtration, reverse osmosis, de-ionization, pure steam, and water for injection.
  • Ensuring the continuous operation and maintenance of the utilities support equipment, used to provide utilities to the HVAC and water preparation equipment, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, and other associated equipment and systems.
  • Ensuring the continuous operation and maintenance of the facility support equipment, including elevators, conveyors, compactors, doors and door systems, and other secondary systems used to support the facility operations.
  • The timely execution of preventive maintenance on the company’s utility systems and supporting equipment.
  • Servicing or overseeing the repair of unscheduled maintenance on the company’s utility systems and supporting equipment.
  • Work directly with the Director of Facilities Engineering, Facility Manager, and other Utilities technicians to service and maintain the HVAC equipment, water processing equipment, and other related supporting equipment, as required.
  • Utilize the work order system and maintain documents it generates.
  • Maintain and provide the up keep of the facilities.
  • Works on-call to respond to emergency calls as required.
  • Ensure facility HVAC systems and water processing and generation systems stay in a validated and calibrated state.
  • Assist in the supervision and completion of work performed by outside service contractors as required.
  • Responsible for following the guidelines for all Safety concerns and for proper cleanup and other personal protection needed to handle hazardous materials and or procedures.
  • Follow SOPs, safety and health guidelines, and GMP guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree and/or four years experience in industrial HVAC, mechanical systems, or water processing and generation systems in the food or pharmaceutical industries
  • Must have industrial HVAC background. Residential HVAC background alone is not sufficient.
  • Possess an understanding of supporting HVAC mechanical systems, such as chillers, air compressors, steam generation equipment, etc.
  • Possess an understanding of control systems, including actuators and valves, sensors, and automation controls, and their function in HVAC and automated systems
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical environment is a plus
  • Possess good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks
  • Ability to work both in a group and independently
  • Understanding of basic computer skills
