The Senior Culinary Manager is responsible for managing and delivering various services that make Visa’s workplace best in class, and in turn makes Visa the employer of choice. The position is generally responsible for the onsite Cafe operations that service upwards of 4000 Visa colleagues and guests. The position will interface with all levels of Visa local management, Executive, support staff, vendor service organization, and property managers.
The primary duties include the day-to-day operational management of the food services program for Foster City Headquarters and San Francisco. This includes:
Food Service:
Manages combined budget of US10+M, ensuring services provided and food quality adhere to service level agreements with our 3rd parties including:
Visa’s on-site food program Subject Matter Expert: establish and uphold standards of excellence, ensure consistency and efficiency of products and services, ensure accurate and engaging corporate communication, manage to the contract.
Managing and supporting vendor partners to ensure culinary program, equipment, product procurement, presentation, and sanitation meet Visa’s standards of excellence for a consistent workplace experience.
Coordinate and conduct employee focus groups to validate programs are meeting Visa’s needs regarding quality, service, convenience, and value
Ensure food program is an equitable and consistent amenity across US portfolio, including beverage and catering services.
Enhance and ensure catering program includes menu variety, food quality, event support, as well as custom and Executive level menu options available. Promote and prioritize in-house catering services for departmental events.
Partner with Supplier to integrate Visa’s Sustainability, Inclusion, and Wellness initiatives into our Visa Food Program platform
Partner with Supplier to create a flexible food program amenity that adapts to deliver service and value to our hybrid workplace
Participate in weekly Visa Culinary meetings
Lead weekly culinary meeting with on-site Teams
Develop annual budget and keep to the budget for all expenditures.
Utilize Purchasing Requisitions and purchasing cards per the established process.
On-site Events
Partner with Site Lead Team to uplift the workplace experience, and support culture creation. Partner on creating memorable onsite events as part of employee engagement efforts (such as: Bring Your Child to Work Day, Employee Resource Group celebrations, Farmers Market Events, Holiday Events and Company BBQ)
Coordinate catering teams (whether on-site or outside caterers), security, janitorial services, site set-up, and clean-up to ensure a successful Event for Visa.
Collaborate with Corporate Events team to ensure events are successful, on-brand, and remain within budget.
Responsible for ensuring onsite catering service levels meet the needs of our stakeholders to ensure they are the First Preference Provider at each of our Cafe Sites. Promote in-house catering for departmental events.
This is an on-site position. An on-site position must be consistently performed at an assigned Visa office location and require daily commute to the office location.
Basic Qualifications:
5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
10 years of work experience managing Food Service Operations, Corporate Services or related field, or 8 years of work experience with an Bachelor’s degree
Membership to professional hospitality organization preferred
Experience developing and maintaining food service operations and upholding food safety standards.
Understand and implement facilities processes in both leased and owned office facilities.
Ability to manage vendors and interpret vendor contracts.
Gathering the appropriate information to develop consensus, decision making.
Knowledge of general facility management and operations.
Effectively work and collaborate with both internal and external clients.
Strong customer service and personal interaction skills.
Strong communication and presentation skills: ability to clearly communicate complex concepts, and create supporting PowerPoint slides and decks to clarify and memorialize
Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Work order and CMMS system experience preferred.
Works with minimal supervision and can establish themselves as subject matter expert with the local management.
Develops budget plans and ensure fiscal responsibilities.
Collaborates with Sourcing to write contracts, making sure services are performed at the contracted time, term and conditions. Establishes and enforces service levels keeping in mind the needs of Visa staff.
Consults with Business Leaders on any outstanding issues that arise and handles according to the developed plan.
Develops site budgets and assists management with the development of the annual budget and keeps to the budget for all expenditures.
Utilizes purchase requisitions and purchasing cards per the established process.
Other responsibilities include onboarding, coordinating, administering, and managing of multiple vendors, contractors as well as relations and contractual agreements for related programs
Interfacing with the regional and country manager, as well as senior management and office personnel, interacting with building maintenance and security management to ensure a safe and secure work environment.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 113,100.00 to 147,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
