POSITION SUMMARY
A qualified candidate is sought to fill a full-time teaching position in the Social Work & Criminal Justice Department beginning in the Fall of 2023 (August 2023). The faculty position is on-ground with classes taught on the main campus of Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL. Rank assignment is negotiable depending on education and professional experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Teaching undergraduate courses in the Criminal Justice Program, including Corrections, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Emergency Management.
2. Other course assignments and community outreach activities are negotiable.
3. Departmental responsibilities include, but are not limited to, academic advising and student recruitment and engagement activities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Academic advising of bachelor’s level students.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
1. A lifestyle in agreement with the ONU Statement of Mission, Faith, and Lifestyle Covenant.
2. Professional experience in the Criminal Justice field.
3. Ability to combine educational background, professional experience, relevant teaching experience, and a commitment to the Christian faith
EDUCATION
A Master’s degree is required. A Doctoral degree (or near completion) is preferred. Degrees in Criminal Justice or related fields such as Criminology, Corrections, or Law Enforcement are preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Nine-month contract: August-May. Salary commensurate with education and professional experience. Office located on the main campus of Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois.
