Family Service Association has two Full-Time Family Support Worker positions available in Howard county. We also have a Full-Time Family Support Worker position in Clinton county and a Part-Time Family Support Worker in Tipton county. Healthy Families is a voluntary, home visiting program that provides education, support, and case management to low-income families with young children ages 0 – 3 living in Howard, Tipton, and Clinton counties to promote supportive environments that optimize child growth and development and encourage resilient, healthy families.
The Family Support Worker establishes a trusting relationship with at-risk families by initiating and maintaining regular client contact through home visiting services. Family Support Workers will increase the bond between parent and child by providing resources, support, encouragement and celebrating successes.
Duties: The Family Support Worker provides education and support to families with young children. Travel to surrounding counties may be required on an as needed basis.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Prefer applicants with some college education and who have experience working with parents and children.
Other Requirements: Requirements include: reliable transportation, basic computer skills, good writing skills, knowledge of community resources, good listening skills and compassion.
