Come grow with us! Magnolia Creek is adding a Part-time Family Therapist to our team! Magnolia Creek treats women with eating disorders who also struggle with co-occurring disorders. Our evidence-based methods take a whole-person approach to achieve recovery. Magnolia Creek is peacefully situated on thirty-six wooded acres. The property has a private lake, walking trails, outdoor therapy areas, a firepit, and recovery garden. Our residents live in a comfortable, home-like environment where they feel safe and supported. Columbiana is commutable from Shelby, Calera, Chelsea, Montevallo, Alabaster, Pelham, and commute is against traffic from Birmingham area.
Position Summary
Responsible for providing individual and group psychological services and guidance for assigned clients and families of Magnolia Creek Treatment Center for Eating Disorders (MCTCED).
Relationships and Contacts
Within the organization: Maintains frequent and close working relationships with clients, families, Management, Clinical Director, facility leadership, peers and vendors.
Outside the organization: May initiate and maintain working relationships with clinical providers, referral partners, families and vendors as needed and directed.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the clinical management of his/her assigned clients and family.
2. Provide mediation-therapeutic intervention for clients and families, either in groups or individually.
3. Assists in identification of treatment/contract goals for clients and families.
4. Responsible for maintaining contact with the assigned clients referring/outpatient therapist, their Magnolia Creek therapist and the clients family.
5. Maintains client records and creates treatment plans for the family regarding the clients recovery.
6. Assists clients and families with setting goals and oversees the clients complete therapy program regarding the family.
7. Assists with completing a weekly privilege list and a bi-weekly treatment plan for clients/families.
8. Provides ongoing clinical documentation in the EMR for continued Utilization Review.
9. Meets with client or client and family at least once a week to help explore identified issues and behaviors in relationship to current symptoms and recovery.
10. Plans and attends family workshops to assist in the recovery of the client and their family.
11. Attends group meetings, meals and other activities in the milieu to better establish a relationship with clients.
12. Facilitates group sessions with clients and families regarding treatment goals, and recovery (up to 3 groups per week).
13. Provides comprehensive understanding of current behaviors and relational dynamics while using a variety of therapeutic modalities.
14. Attends the weekly team meetings and share observations, comments and important information about clients with the treatment team.
15. Responsible for proper charting and ensuring that all documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
16. Assists in meal/snack supervision as assigned and attends special occasion activities for the clients.
17. Assists with discharge planning, including a written discharge summary and obtaining referral sources and necessary support systems for clients and families once the client is discharged.
18. May serve as a preceptor to graduate students while they are completing an internship at Magnolia Creek, depending on credentials and/or licensure.
19. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications related to Magnolia Creek Mission and population.
Additional Responsibilities
1. Functions within the guidelines of the facilitys Code of Ethics and in accordance with corporate compliance.
2. Assists in promoting and ensuring that the mission, goals and objectives of MCTCED are understood and actively supported by the employees.
3. Provides a high level of customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
4. Accomplishes organization mission by completing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Master's Degree; Alabama license or working toward license (MFT, LPC, LCSW, PhD); Two years family therapy experience with one year in an eating disorder recovery setting preferred.
Other Requirements:
Position requires incumbent to have a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance.

- Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Welcomes and integrates feedback from team.
- Possesses a clear understanding of safety and security standards of MCTCED and the employees role within those standards.
- Demonstrates strong problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to use sound judgement.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills, while building and maintaining professional relationships.
- Demonstrates a strong belief in and commitment to the goals and mission of Magnolia Creek Treatment Center.
