Are you a Field Service Engineer looking for a place you can make a difference every day? Serco is searching for an experienced Field Service Engineer in support of CNIC EHSS Program. This is a
part-time position based in Norfolk, VA.
The EHSS provides physical security and access control solutions to the U.S. Navy, worldwide. These capabilities provide mission proven solutions that integrate commercially available and government developed technologies to protect critical U.S. Navy assets against terrorist and other threats.

The scope of the effort includes equipment repair and overhaul; inventory control; computer resources support; fielded systems support; integrated logistics support; and systems engineering and integration tasking.
In this role you will:
- Build, maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems. Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions for assembling equipment.
- Construct components, subunits of equipment, or prototype models to meet engineering requirements. Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions using specialized test and diagnostic equipment.
- Conduct tests requiring selection and/or modification of a variety of critical test equipment and test procedures.
- Set up and operates equipment and records data, and measures and records problems of significant complexity that sometimes require resolution at a higher level.
- Prepare operating and malfunction reports. Records and evaluates data and report findings.
- Performs non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity and may assist in planning such assignments.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Must posses a DoD Secret Clearance
- Bachelors degree or an Associates Degree with 4 years of specialized experience or a High School diploma with 8 of specialized experience
- Experience/ certification with CCTV, Radar, Computer systems, Access Control/IDS
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, Safety, or Security
- Must be able to work with little or no supervision
- Must be able to travel 25%
