Job Overview
The Responsibilities of a Field Service Technician/Engineer include the ground floor development, construction, installation, and final delivery of KORE Solutions' custom-engineered battery energy storage solutions. The scope of work requires the Field Service Technician/Engineer to be adaptable to many different roles, creating opportunities to develop and advance skills in many facets of the engineering field.
Work is based out of our Waterbury, Vermont headquarters, but our field service team travels to a variety of different customer sites during system construction and integration. While at the Vermont facility, field service technicians/engineers assist the production team in building and designing the products installed in the field.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The responsibilities and roles of a Field Service Technician/Engineer include but are not limited to:
- All aspects of battery energy storage system fabrication and installation. This includes electrical, mechanical, and controller integration at customer sites.
- Assist with Battery Energy Storage System production and fabrication.
- Provide engineering support for production activities to ensure quality control and production efficiency.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repair procedures on existing deployed battery systems.
- Follow training and safety procedures.
- Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology, and production processes.
- Develop and adhere to best practices to improve quality, efficiency, and team environment.
Reports To
The position reports directly to the Project Operations Manager and the Production Manager.
Qualifications
- Mechanical and electrical experience working in engineering, production, or a related field or other relevant knowledge and experience.
- A firm grasp of engineering concepts; experience with mechanical or electrical systems and products is helpful.
- Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability.
- Experience operating hand and power tools.
- Must be detail-oriented to implement the standard of quality expected for all KORE Solutions products.
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
- Must be self-motivated and a great team worker.
Physical Requirements
- Standing for extended periods is common.
- Some heavy lifting is expected; occasional exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force may be required.
- On-site fieldwork can consist of hiking, construction work, mechanical/electrical work, and wearing PPE for specific tasks.
- Hearing and vision within normal ranges, with or without corrective lenses or an assisted hearing device.
- Good manual dexterity is required for assembly and production work.
Work Environment
- The job is unique in that different projects bring you to a variety of sites and working conditions.
- Secondary job requirements include assisting production which is typically performed indoors in a manufacturing and production setting.
