Overview:
- Full-time Field Tech needed in support of a large-scale AT&T project
- Position requires travel to sites within Baton Rouge + remote work
- Necessary tools and equipment will be provided
Responsibilities:
- Identify point of contact at each site- meet and negotiate with building owner, developer, contractor, and/or AT&T representative
- Arrange and perform site visits- properties include single tenant, multi-tenant, high-rise, shopping centers, new cell sites, etc.
- Take legible field notes for the design of construction drawings in aerial, buried, underground, and building applications
- Analyze work site and design requests- determine scope of work and deliver customer premise package
- Designs include layout of on-site cables and any associated terminals, manholes, backboard, power and/or other infrastructure
- Pay attention to detail and communicate any concerns or updates with the Outside Plant Designer
Desired Skills:
- Telecom, Fiber, and/or Outside Plant experience required
- Relevant background with utilities, cabling, or construction strongly considered
- Basic operating knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office- Word, Outlook, Excel
- Excellent communication for daily interaction with internal teams and external customers
- Ability to complete projects within timeline and ensure quality of work completed
- Proficient use of tablet/laptop for updating database- site info, photos, GPS, etc.
Qualifications:
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Qualify on pre-employment screening, including non-negligent driving record
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Work Environment:
- Work schedule to match hours of our customer and meet deadlines
- Requires outdoor site visits in various weather conditions + remote work
- Dress appropriately and meet safety standards while on-site
Compensation:
- Starting pay $18-22/hr (depending on experience)
- After training, position converts to unit-based pay (Hiring Manager will confirm details)
- Hands-on training offered with opportunity for long-term growth
