Field Test Supervisor Job at Husqvarna

The Test Supervisor is responsible primary focus of this position is direct supervision of Associates on the assigned shift to ensure daily field testing requirements are met and quality issues related to the product are communicated to Engineering Management.
What You Need to Know:
  • Plan and manage manpower to support product testing requirements. This includes scheduling Team Leaders to equipment groups and assigning work to Field Test operators.
  • Ensure test technicians record proper equipment data and that all equipment is cycled according to agreed processes.
  • Record attendance at the beginning of each shift and document daily violations of the Attendance Policy to include: tardies, absences, extended breaks, leaving early, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with Husqvarna’s safety policy and procedures for all Field Test personnel, to include but not limited to: wearing of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), weather-specific clothing, safety vests, etc.
  • Become certified as a First Responder, in addition to Hazmat and Fire Extinguisher training.
  • Ensure all rolling stock is DOE compliant and safe. This includes assigning a driver, monitoring check sheets and trailer loads, and conducting routine hitch and safety chain inspections, as well as trailer brake and light spot inspections.
  • Ensure extra equipment is available in the event of a breakdown, as well as the availability of stocked perishable parts and PPE.
  • Monitor equipment refueling.
  • Monitor the work group for compliance with Field Test policies and procedures, in addition to EEO, Title VII and other employment laws and company policies to prevent harassment, discrimination or the creation of a hostile environment in the workplace.
  • Provide training, support and guidance to subordinate personnel to develop individual job skills.
What We Are Looking For:
  • Associates degree in Management, Engineering, or a related field of study from an accredited college or university, Bachelors preferred
  • Three to five years of experience in a mobile equipment testing environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and effective teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent work habits and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Basic mathematical skills to include the ability to perform unit conversions (e.g. pints to gallons, quarts to gallons, pints to quarts) and quickly sum work hours based on start/stop times.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills are required to clearly and legibly articulate equipment operation and failures.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • A demonstrated willingness for continual learning and skill development.
  • Personal computer skills to include, but not limited to: MS Office software applications and Lotus Notes.
  • Ability to work overtime, off shifts, and weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to operate test equipment
