JOB TITLE: Financial Analyst
QUALIFICATIONS:
The person in this position should have the following credentials:
1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting or business with accounting concentration (preferred)
2. Five years’ work experience in accounting (governmental preferred)
3. Experience with large Enterprise Resource Planning System software
4. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, emphasis on Excel
5. Ability to work alone and/or in groups on projects
6. Expert in analyzing and research in order to make recommendations
7. Ability to understand technical processes
REPORTS TO: This person reports directly to the Director of Business Services.
JOB GOALS: Assist the Director of Business Services with monitoring the financial position and projecting revenue streams for the District.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Monitor and analyze all tax collections for the District.
2. Project mill value for operating and debt service funds.
3. Project fee in lieu of taxes (FILOT) for operating and debt service funds.
4. Analyze and project other revenue streams for operating and debt service funds as needed.
5. Record daily taxes for operating and debt service funds.
6. Monitor economic conditions that may affect revenue projections.
7. Prepare all tax schedules for monthly financials, administration and external audit.
8. Prepare statistics tables for external audit.
9. Assist with the external audit for the District including the required reporting to the SC Department of Education.
10.Assist with a general review of trial balance accounts for appropriate debit/credit balance.
11.Prepare monthly debt service financials and assist with the accounting and issuance of the general obligation bonds.
12.Record journal and cash book entries as needed.
13.Assist with Request for Proposal (RFP) preparation and vendor selection process.
14.Analyze departmental operating procedures and internal controls for opportunities of improvement.
15.Assist in the implementation of new processes for the District to increase efficiencies/effective delivery of services.
16.Analyze Enterprise Resource Planning processes to increase efficiencies/effective delivery of services.
17.Prepare schedules/statements for internal and external reporting.
18.Crosstrain with other Business Services employees.
19.Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve Months with salary in Group L, Administrative/Supervisory Salary Schedule.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provision of the Board’s policy
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $51,946.00 - $79,490.00 per year
