Responsible to the Business Manager for the financial operations of the department of Internal Medicine. Prepares monthly financial reports, and budget revisions prepares and monitors University and MEAC departmental budgets. Provides budget management and collects and analyzes financial data. Maintaining records; managing, maintaining, monitoring, and reporting financial data; balancing budgets; and preparing and submitting requisitions using the eBucs system. Collects data and conducts financial analysis. Serves as liaison between the Department of Internal Medicine, ETSU departments, external vendors, and ORSPA.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of accounting principles, finance, and management
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures
- Knowledge of budget management
- Knowledge of budgetary procedures and processes
- Knowledge of computers and various software
- Knowledge of medical school and departmental policies and procedures
- Knowledge of MEAC financial procedures
- Knowledge of health care administration, HIPAA, OSHA, and medical terminology
- Knowledge of personnel and payroll systems, as well as local, state, and federal laws/policies
- Ability to analyze financial information
- Ability to maintain accurate and confidential records
- Ability to maintain and establish good working relationships with faculty, staff, and students
- Ability to work effectively in a detail-oriented environment
- Ability to exercise good judgement in evaluating problems and making decisions
- Ability to interact with different cultures and a diversity of people
- Ability to effectively communicate with others in person and via email
- Ability to plan, develop, coordinate, direct, and evaluate policies and procedures
- Ability to delegate work effectively
- Ability to conceptualize, solve problems, make precise decisions, and accept responsibility
- Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, and work effectively under pressure

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
- 1 year of professional account reconciliation and/or fiscal management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1-3 years experience
- Experience in purchasing, budgeting and/or accounting background
