Fintech Process Improvement Coordinator Job at Sutton Bank
Summary:
Responsible for a variety of critical payments related tasks, including, but not limited to, the completion of the onboarding checklist, obtaining accurate and complete process reporting. Works closely with the Sutton Data Integrated Solutions group to automate and improve existing payment accounting process(s).
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field.
Licenses/Certifications: None.
Experience: Three to five years of related accounting experience in a financial institution, experience working with database/data warehouse, experience working with a high volume of transactions. An understanding of electronic and card payment processes preferred. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Functions:
A: Job Specific:
- Completes the onboarding checklist for new programs and monitors changes with existing programs that may impact accounting or reconciling.
- Assists the Controller with obtaining proper reporting from processors to ensure the ability for Sutton to effectively reconcile cardholder DDA accounts.
- Works cross functionally with Data, IT, Payments Implementation, and Third-Party Vendor Risk teams to build out cardholder reconciliation platform.
- Works with the Accounting, Data, and IT teams to automate daily transaction posting, including the integration of partner daily journal entries.
- Supports the Accounting team by automating current Excel-based cardholder recons into a software solution.
- Monitors partner changes to transaction types to ensure reconciliation capabilities are maintained.
- Establishes written procedures for all partner balancing.
- Assists with Payments related projects including upgrades, special request, etc.
- Develops relationships with key contacts at payments processors and programs.

- The ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both in verbal and written communications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of the business area that is being supported.

- The ability to manage multiple tasks.

- Ability to calculate figures as it relates to accounting processes.
- Strong Microsoft Excel aptitude.
