Reports To: Custody Evaluation Unit Supervisor
Job Description: To conduct behavioral health assessments for forensic participants.
Responsibilities: are to include and are not limited to:
- Conduct face-to-face and/or virtual interviews with adults using the Addiction Severity Index (ASI-5) and other assessment tools with flexibility within the Forensic Services department in various settings.
- Apply for funding for each participant’s individual treatment needs to multiple funding sources, if applicable.
- ASAM certified.
- Maintain positive, working relationships with treatment providers.
- Enter accurate data into Forensic Services database systems.
- Adhere to evaluation completion within established protocols.
- Meet or exceed the minimal productivity requirements of 32 evaluations per month.
- Biweekly supervision with your immediate supervisor.
- Collaboration with various stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS:
- Have a desire to help people and families that suffer from the disease of addiction.
- Work and communicate from a recovery informed viewpoint.
- Be able to maintain a calm, polite, and respectful composure in an emotionally charged work environment.
- Must be highly organized and be able to perform multiple tasks under strict timelines.
- Must possess excellent writing skills.
- De-escalation and redirection are a MUST.
- Good clinical assessment techniques and interviewing skills.
- Ability to receive constructive criticism and implement necessary changes.
- Must be able to work independently as well as within a team.
- Working knowledge of the DSM-V.
- Certification in ASAM.
EXPERIENCE:
Four (4) or more years working with substance abusing population. Should also have working knowledge of mental health and co-morbidity.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
SALARY:
- Commensurate with education and experience.
