Job Description
The primary duties of this position are to closely assist Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) biologists with the summarization and analysis of technical fisheries data and draft technical reports using Microsoft Word and Excel software. Secondarily, the person in this position will direct various fieldwork duties including conducting angler surveys, sampling fish using various gear types, tagging fish, estimating age of fish, and other field duties as assigned. Benefits will be included.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s of Science degree in fisheries or related field is required. A Master’s of Science degree in fisheries or related field along with some experience in natural resources field related activities is strongly preferred. The successful applicant must be self-motivated, able to work independently at times, and have good attention to detail. This position requires a strong working knowledge of data analysis and technical writing. In addition, the applicant must have the ability to work with minimal supervision, keep accurate records, adapt to varying work schedules, perform moderate to strenuous physical labor, and work outside in a variety of weather conditions. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Other combinations of education/experience may be considered.
