Overview
The Food & Beverage Cost Analyst provides value-added analytical support to the accounting, purchasing, culinary and operations teams within a multi-unit restaurant group.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain a clean and accurate database of purchased items, menu items, recipes, units of measure and various related inputs
- Ensure that effective cost control processes are implemented
- Process master item and recipe change requests
- Maintain and distribute inventory count templates
- Review inventory counts for accuracy; investigate potential errors and omissions
- Process invoices and reconcile to vendor reports
- Review and resolve discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices
- Partner with operations management to interpret monthly P&L results and key metrics
- Prepare reporting dashboards; review and distribute ongoing F&B cost reporting
- Measure and report actual versus theoretical cost for menu items and recipes; investigate variances and develop recommendations
- Identify and communicate opportunities for process and cost improvements
- Make timely recommendations to internal stakeholders
- Onboard and train operational team members on software and key processes
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
