Description
The Food Service Aide assumes the responsibility for performing a variety of tasks related to the preparation, assembly, distribution, pick-up and clean-up of patient’s and visitor’s meal trays. Responsible for serving attractive, well garnished, and well organized patient trays with the utmost accuracy and speed. Maintains proper food temperatures consistently and dissembles and cleans trayline.
Educational Requirements:
- High School or equivalent record. Knowledge of proper body mechanics desirable; Must have to ability to read, write, and follow instructions both verbally and written. Requires knowledge of and skills to operate kitchen equipment and the effective use of cleaning agents; knowledge of customer relations desirable; must have knowledge of Health Department Standards required.
Experience Requirements:
- Previous food service experience helpful; Hospital/health care setting preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is inside and requires considerable standing and walking in and about the dept; some lifting, stooping, bending as required to perform duties
