Ever wanted to work on a food truck?
Ever wanted to own your own food truck? This may be the job for you!!!!
Your primary responsibility would be to drive the food truck along with the team to serve on location. Advancement potential is great as this is a key role for the business!
This employee works weekly collaborating on our menu, preparing food for our Mobile Food Unit (aka Food Truck) and operating the food truck several times per week.
Managing and motivating staff many of whom work on the truck as
well as in the restaurant.
This person is willing to do any of the tasks required as requested each week. The
schedule will be determined the week prior, and when possible the month will be
scheduled in advance.
Maintaining and cleaning kitchen equipment inside the mobile food unit IS included.
Duties include but may not be limited to:
Preparing food in commissary kitchen space
Following recipes, offering input on menu and recipes
Prepping, storing, labeling, heating, and cooling properly a variety of foods including handling meat
DETAILED kitchen cleaning as well as cleaning the inside of the
mobile food unit
Helping to load truck with prepped foods, water, equipment and riding to destination,
assisting in generator set up, sign preparation, food station set up, etc.
Unloading truck upon return, properly storing or discarding foods after events
Plating food according to plan, with appropriate sides and condiments, cooking some foods
to order, using the fryer and other heating equipment safely to cook food
properly
Occasional cashier duties but must ensure proper accounting for cash during the shift.
Requirements:
Valid Driver's License
ServeSafe Certification preferred. If applicant has not yet taken Serve Safe we can
discuss how to obtain it quickly and share cost
Following all Health Department requirements such as but not limited to: Wearing head
covering and having appropriate shoes for kitchen work.
Good sense of humor as well as common sense, customer service skills a plus and
basic math abilities (to expand or alter recipes in kitchen or to make simple
change on truck)
Willingness to work every Saturday.

Mike and the team placed higher than many well known pitmasters. Despite Mike’s successful career in the corporate sector, he decided to follow his passion subsequently purchased the few remaining assets from Joe’s business and launched Hickory Tree Turkey BBQ.
