Foreign Exchange (FX) Operations Specialist

What you'll do:
The Foreign Exchange (FX) Operations Specialist is responsible for assisting with the maintenance of all global and domestic FX accounts along with the overall responsibility for processing foreign and US currency transaction settlements.
What we are looking for:

Assists in managing and maintenance of all the global accounts

Assists in the reconciliation of daily account balances, including accounts/funds research

Contributes to the preparation of reports and spreadsheets for bank charges
-
Provides customer service to clients and colleagues to help resolve issues
-
Operates foreign exchange and other banking systems as needed
-
Responsible for the entire process of foreign currency funds settlement for all types of transactions

Handles all back-office related FX contract settlements
-
Confirms FX trades with internal bankers

Uses the S.W.I.F.T. network and other systems to facilitate the input and output for FX payments

Processes foreign check collections

Backs up other team members as needed

Processes FX transactions and execute customers’ payment requests from online banking and manual instructions.

Performs daily and monthly reconciliation of all overseas correspondent banks’ accounts

Ensures all incoming payments are posted to customers’ accounts in an accurate and timely manner

Posts necessary charges/fees to customers’ accounts and posts any adjustments to the correspondent bank accounts.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree preferred
-
High School diploma or equivalent required
-
1 or more years in International Banking operations or Bank Wire Operations

Basic to intermediate knowledge of Foreign Exchange practices
-
Familiarity with FX systems (risk management, back office, trading) is desirable

Intermediate Microsoft Office application experience including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
-
Effective written and oral communication skills with the ability to interpret documents, understand procedures, and clearly communicate with external and internal clients

A team player who is able to collaborate well with team members and other colleagues
