Foreman Production Control Job at Hawker Pacific Inc.
Hawker Pacific Aerospace, Sun Valley, CA is seeking a Plating Production Control to support the Production Control Department. Selected applicant will assist the Production Control Manager to carry out the functions of the fabrication shop. Ensure safe and efficient work flow by supervising shop staff and overseeing production in accordance with company policy, customer demands, and local, state and federal regulations.
This position may be assigned to one or more departments depending upon the company needs at the time.
Essential Duties
This individual has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned task. May be assigned some or all duties indicated below depending on job progression level.
Oversee daily work assignments, and work schedules so that the most efficient use is made of all resources and equipment.- Responsible for all processes, equipment, employees, safety and housekeeping of the area, and meeting production quality and quantity standards in the designated functional area.
- Troubleshoot production problems encountered by workers so that delays are minimized and equipment functions as safely and efficiently as possible.
- Perform quality inspections of completed work so that the correct quantity of correctly fabricated and correctly tagged material.
- Oversee maintenance on shop equipment in the designated functional area so that downtime is minimized and equipment functions as safely as possible.
- Perform various jobs such as operation of sheer, bender, crane operator, car puller, fork-lift operator, etc. so that shift work is done efficiently and on time.
- Identifies any violations or potential hazards and reports it to manager or safety team member.
- Plans and schedules the work of associates to meet delivery and production requirements.
- Coaches/trains associates to meet established production goals.
- By utilizing confidential and proprietary resources, schedules and manages daily activities to maximize efficiency and reduce lead time.
- Ensures adherence to and enforces company policies and procedures.
- Ensures that direct reports are properly trained.
- Provides performance feedback and general supervision to direct reports.
- Works with direct reports to develop and support growth toward a formal career plan.
- Participates and provides input as part of the management team regarding decisions involving hiring, terminations, layoffs, etc.
- Dedicated to LEAN thinking by leading and participating in kaizen or continuous improvement projects (LEAN, leadership development, associate development, etc.).
- Documents continuous improvement projects.
- Prepare presentations for management meetings.
- This individual has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned task.
- Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
- Adhere to all the rules, regulations, and safety guidelines.
- Responsibility to work with LEAN Manufacturing principles.
- Performs other duties as required by business needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervises 5-8+ employees in the department. Indirectly supervises employees in various departments.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: Five (5) years’ related experience.
Two years previous supervisor experience in a manufacturing setting or equivalent. Ability to operate all shop equipment.
Landing Gear and Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

. Strong adaptability and capacity to work in fast-paced environments. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Attention to detail and ability to multitask tasks from multiple administrators.
