Job Posting Title: Freight Forwarder - Ocean Export
Time Type: Full Time

Hourly Rate Range: $15 - $30 (dependent upon experience)

As Ocean Export Agent, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the coordination of Ocean Export shipments such as, opening export files, production of internal documentation, updating export statuses, assisting and advising customers of arrival, arranging deliveries and processing invoices (including price conversions and verifying shipment weight and volume). Provide customer support to all vendors, suppliers, agents and government agencies to facilitate the export objective while ensuring accurate accounting functions relating to the billing, distribution and collection of funds.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Complete process of shipment includes arranging for pick-up or inland transportation, booking, timely document preparation (bill of lading, DSV invoicing, certificate of origin, export declaration and/or AES, if applicable), follow-up with tracking and tracing to final destination.
• Customer Service responsibilities include maintaining communication with vendor, shipper, customer, carrier and DSV offices throughout the process.
• Negotiate cost-effective rates with service providers to ensure maximum profitability.
• Booking & coordination of most cost effective and efficient means to export goods as per client requirements.
• Immediately report problems, operation disputes or discrepancies to supervisor, manager or branch manager.
• Ensure that export process is in compliance with company and industry quality assurance standards (ISO, Customs, etc.).
• Employees may also have additional responsibilities in accordance with supporting a specific department(s)/division(s) and/or be tasked with specific, individualized assignments.
• Resolve issues respective to meeting client requirements such as data input and general customer service inquiries related to tracking and tracing.
• Resolve billing discrepancies and discrepancies against client SOP's.

Your skills and experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in freight forwarding preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of current work experience in ocean freight forwarding specifically, a definite plus.
• Prior use of CargoWise One a plus
• Good working knowledge of domestic and international geography including countries, major cities, seaport.
• Basic Knowledge of U.S. Administration Regulations (FAA, FMC, EAR, Hazmat) and other government agency requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; and PC skills including Word and Excel.
