Front Desk Resident Assistant Job at Low Income Housing Institute
Location: Frye Apartments

REPORTS TO: Area Manager
HOURS: 8AM-6PM Saturdays & Sundays
PAY RANGE: $18.31 - $19.35
BENEFITS: Retirement, long term disability, vacation & sick leave. Medical, dental, and vision at premium share for part-time employees employed 20-29 hours per week.
POSITION TYPE: This is a unionized position, represented by Local 8 of the Office of Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU). Non-exempt.
This position is for a 234-unit building for homeless and low-income families and individuals, located in downtown Seattle. The Front Desk/Resident Assistant duties are primarily front desk, office support, customer service and security duties for a building with 24/7 staff.
Responsibilities:
1. Staff front desk/lobby. Monitor building access. Enable access to residents or visitors.
2. Operate all functions in the front desk/lobby area, including checking visitors in and out, answering telephones, and checking in/out of supplies.
3. Sort and distribute mail, packages, business messages, etc.
4. Interact positively with Frye tenants and visitors.
5. Enforce house rules and guest policies.
6. Respond to applicants and residents questions and concerns.
7. Implement fire/emergency procedures as needed.
8. Respond as needed to medical emergencies or other urgent situations. Initiate action as required, including contact with emergency response systems and management personnel.
9. Work cooperatively with case managers, office and maintenance staff, and visiting providers; refer residents to case managers and other staff as appropriate.
10. Monitor resident disputes, intervene to de-escalate and redirect residents when necessary.
11. Word Processing/Data entry - submit work orders, track guest logs.
12. Maintain shift log and other documentation related to resident activity in accordance with applicable agency policies and Federal HIPPAA confidentiality guidelines.
13. Light janitorial as needed.
14. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Experience in working in human services, social work or related field.
2. Experience working with a diverse population.
3. Demonstrated ability to handle conflicts and disputes.
4. Administrative experience.
5. Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
6. Excellent customer service and communication skills.
7. Basic computer skills.
8. Experience with security in multi-family dwellings.
9. Must pass background and drug screening test
