Fry cooks have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:

- Preparing food items that require frying such as French fries, onion rings, chicken tenders, corn dogs,
- Maintaining records of food preparation and serving times to ensure that customers receive prompt service
- Ensuring that food is stored at the correct temperatures to prevent spoilage or contamination
