Location Description: Michael Foods, Inc. located in Gaylord, Minnesota is Minnesota's Healthy Heartland! Gaylord is located in south central Minnesota about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. As the County Seat, Gaylord is the "Hub of Sibley County." Our location produces liquid egg, hardcook egg, and precooked egg such as scrambled, patties and omelets. Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Food Safety & Quality Management system of acquisition and greenfield startup facilities, in collaboration with Michael Foods Corporate and site food safety and quality teams.
  • Function as a key member between acquisition sites\co-manufacturers and MFI functional departments such as Food Safety and Quality, Marketing, Research and Development, Procurement and Engineering to address identified risks.
  • This position will mentor and coach the acquisition sites and co-manufacturing FSQ groups to promote a culture of excellence to meet and exceed customer and regulatory requirements.
  • This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Co-Manufacturer Food Safety and Quality Management system to identify and quantify risk in the supply chain, in collaboration with and supporting the Co-Manufacturing food safety and quality teams.
  • Proactively and independently recognizing, assessing, and documenting Co-Manufacturer and acquisition facility adherence to company, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to assist the co-manufacturing and acquisition facilities in building, training and/or implementing programs as identified through observation and risk-based assessments.
  • This individual will actively participate in the identification and resolution of issues using risk-based methods to best prioritize the needed activities.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in dairy or food science or related field and a minimum of 7 years’ experience in QA systems and food safety auditing with experience writing audit reports and interpreting corrective action responses.
  • Working knowledge of Quality systems, food safety programs, HARPC, and GMP’s is required.
  • Strong continuous improvement knowledge.
  • Excellent computer skills in Office, SharePoint, SAP, Intelex
  • Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Able to work flexible hours (nights and weekends) as required.
  • Willing to travel 75% of the time.
