JOB SUMMARY

The Branch Team Leader is responsible for the supervision of the Community Banker 1s, 2s and Community Associates, including but not limited to the training, mentoring, and scheduling.. This individual will train and mentor the branch staff to ensure delivery of JBT’s SMILE Standards. The Branch Team Leader must have knowledge of laws, regulations and bank policies and procedures individually. Additionally, the BTL will ensure all members of the branch team are educated on, and comply with these same guidelines. The BTL facilitates communication and coordinates the staff in conjunction with the manager/assistant manager to maintain an exemplary level of customer service in the branch.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate, instruct, and assist CB1s, CB2s and CAs about policies, procedures and related compliance laws and regulations as well as bank products & services
  • Supervise, hire, and train staff to insure SMILE Standards level service in person, through the drive-up and over the telephone
  • Create/oversee the schedule for the office ensuring adequate coverage based on client traffic
  • Ensure branch opening and closing procedures are followed
  • Perform weekly staff observations to use as a coaching tool and include in monthly one-on-ones with team
  • Complete performance management documentation of direct reports
  • Verify time recorded on HR systems is accurate and reported to HR as appropriate. Completes assigned BVS courses, sees that staff does the same
  • Facilitate the team’s success in balancing of their drawers, ATM, TCR and all other cash handling related activities.
  • Order the shipments and receipt of money or delegate to staff as appropriate
  • Maintain branch cash levels
  • Balance the vault on a daily basis, delegate to staff as appropriate
  • Perform random branch and drawer audits
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts relating to line functions and end of month reports, develop staff to do as appropriate
  • Perform all CB2 functions as stated in the CB2 job description
  • Accept/complete loan applications as directed by Manager
  • Take residential mortgage loan applications and offer or negotiates terms of a residential mortgage loan for compensation or gain as directed by Manager. ( Maintain NMLSR)
  • Oversee branch emergency procedures

Requirements:

SKILLS

  • Supervisory, evaluation, scheduling and training knowledge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understand and operate the Jack Henry System (Vertex Teller Capture, CIF 20/20, Streamline, Synergy, 4Sight,CallTrax and all other branch related systems.
  • Proficient mathematics and analytical skills
  • Basic accounting knowledge (debits/credits, asset/liability, etc.)
  • Operate the following office equipment: computer, scanner, adding machine, typewriter, telephone, copy and fax machine
  • Ability to lift approximately 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
