GameChangers Part-Time Mentor Recruitment Coordinator Job at YWCA Knoxville
Under general supervision of the GameChangers Program Coordinator, this part-time position working 25-29 hours per week leads implementation of mentor recruitment and participates in the following but not limited to: collaborative work with community partners, training, reporting, recruiting, and project planning. The preferred candidate will have a strong interest in engaging men in our community and raising awareness around domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking and bystander intervention.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively works toward the implementation of GameChangers through collaboration, planning, reporting, evaluation measures and processes related to increasing partner site locations, mentor development, and volunteer recruitment.
- In collaboration with other program staff, will focus 100% of time on recruitment of mentors and serving as the point of contact for mentor volunteers.
- Must be results driven and will meet requirements for mentor recruitment and retention.
- Collaborates with Program Coordinator to help coordinate and facilitate mentor training and workshops.
- Ensures mentors are engaged in activities as outlined by the program, such as: on-going trainings, capacity building, and implementing project activities.
- Collaborates with Program Coordinator on vision and strategy for continued growth and retention of mentor volunteers. Continually fosters mentor relationships through volunteer engagement activities.
- Serves as a spokesperson for project in the community through public speaking engagements related to GameChangers as needed.
- Ensures all program activities are focused on effective gender-based violence prevention and intervention strategies for elementary and middle school youth, addressing sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking.
- Is knowledgeable and seeks training on the dynamics, identification, and referral of children and youth exposed to sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and/or stalking, and demonstrates understanding on the intersection of domestic violence and trauma experienced by children, youth, and young adults exposed to violence.
- Follows policies and procedures regarding information sharing, confidentiality, and privacy rights of VAWA, HIPAA, federal law, and other relevant laws and rules applicable to the work provided by agency and partners.
- Demonstrates cultural competency in interactions with constituents.
- Assures that confidentiality is maintained regarding all client information and agency proprietary information.
- Assures that confidentiality is maintained regarding all client information and agency proprietary information, including but not limited to record storage, organization, and maintenance in compliance with VAWA, HIPAA, and other confidentiality policies, laws, and requirements.
- Other duties related to the implementation of the program, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum educational requirement for this position is a Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, family studies or a closely related field (preferred), or Associate’s degree and equivalent work experience.
- Additionally, 1 to 3 years of experience of leading volunteers, and working with diverse constituents preferred.
