General Maintenance Worker

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM

Location: 2301 W. Ashton Blvd Lehi, Utah 84043

Status: Part-Time/ Non-Exempt

Wage: $ 15/hour

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Maintain grounds, including garden and yard upkeep, trimming, edging, mowing lawn, collecting trash, etc.
• Prepare planting areas; plants flowers, shrubbery and trees; transplants and prunes established trees, shrubs and other plants
• Mow and trim lawns; determine height and frequency of cut; is aware of safety hazards, and turf conditions
• Pick up garbage littering college grounds
• Provide daily maintenance of lawn mowers and other tools and equipment. Assists in the repair of mechanical equipment and makes emergency repairs to utility systems, lawnmowers, etc.
• Operate light and heavy tractors, trucks, and stationary equipment to perform assigned tasks
• Responsible for snow and ice removal
• Maintain sprinkler system operations, secondary water systems, fountains, and pump stations by repairing valves, sprinkler heads, and other components
• Maintain accurate and accessible records (i.e. SDS logs) as assigned
• Receive and inspect supplies and deliveries
• Report to General Maintenance Lead regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress
• Notify General Maintenance Lead of needed supplies and equipment before supplies are depleted
• Operate equipment and handles tools safely and appropriately
• Install necessary appliances and equipment as needed
• Inspect and troubleshoot various equipment and systems
• Move and assisting in transportation of furniture and equipment
• Assist with set-up for activities, moving and arranging department furniture and equipment
• Assemble and/or maintain equipment, lights, minor plumbing, furniture, door fixtures, furnishings, etc. Complete regular maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs.
• Perform minor fixes, such as repairing broken locks, damage to walls, etc.
• Perform necessary cleaning activities, such as dusting, mopping, trash removal, etc.
• Assist in recycling and emergency situations as directed
• Operate a college vehicle and is responsible for its safe operation and reporting any observed maintenance needs
• Read, understand, and follow safety procedures; knows and understands all safety procedures of the College
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of six months related experience.
