Position Function and Scope:

The Rate of Pay for this role is $35.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:

Full responsibility under the Superintendent, Supervisor or Head Mechanic or Leader Cannery Mechanic for building, assembling, installation, maintenance, proper operation, repair and overhauling of all cannery machinery and equipment.

• Read sketches, prints, operating instructions, etc., and determine procedure.
• Check materials and parts and make requisition.
• Lay out work from sketches and drawings.
• Cut, form, and assemble parts to construct machinery and equipment.
• Locate, line up and anchor machinery.
• Test and time machinery.
• Order maintenance and repair supplies and material used in mechanical work in department.
• Consult with supervision on needed repairs and changes.

• Must wear proper Personal Protective Equipment as required.
• Must operate equipment in safe and efficient manner at all times.
• Must observe Company's GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Safety Policies at all times.

Qualifications:

The Maintenance Mechanic position requires experienced industrial mechanics proficient in machine repair and maintenance. Manufacturing and food processing experience is preferred. Specific knowledge in any of the following is ideal: aseptic systems, turbines, evaporation, cooling towers and large centrifugal pumps, packaging and labeling equipment, industrial cookers and coolers. Will dismantle, clean and assemble various pumps, valves and vessels. 3 years of maintenance experience preferred.
