The City of Harrisonville is accepting applications for a full-time GIS Technician with the Community Development Department.
The GIS Technician is responsible for developing and maintaining geographic data for the City and its departments including Water, Sewer, Electric, Community Development and others as needed. The GIS Tech will create customized maps and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications, read and interpret maps, manipulate and understand digital-land data, manage data entered into a GIS database and troubleshoot end-user issues and escalate as needed.
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent course work in GIS (geographic information systems), computer science, geography, planning or closely related field required. Experience as a GIS Technician and hands-on GIS experience supporting ESRI's ArcGIS maintenance is required, as well as experience creating maps within ArcGIS. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required skills and abilities for the position will be considered.
Full Time Hourly position plus benefits. Pay based on experience. Starting salary range from $18.36 - $25.70/per hour.
