The Greenhouse Grower position is responsible for the management of growing operations and for the proper care of the greenhouse, including the principles and practices of plant cultivation and protection. They will be responsible for growing a portion of our annuals and perennials, as well as our hanging baskets for the year.
Compensation/Salary:
$18/hr+ DOE
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Identify the plants and their problems (diseases, pests, and others) and treat them.
- Plan, organize, direct, control, and/or coordinate activities of the grow house. Including: pruning, thinning, irrigation, fertilization and pest control. Manage all greenhouse personnel under their direction, supervise their activities and train them in the appropriate techniques for the plants being grown.
- Ensure all safety policies (worker safety, food safety, etc.) are followed and enforced.
- Responsible for inspecting facilities for signs of disrepair.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to identify the plants and their problems (diseases, pests, and others).
- Must be able to plan, organize, direct, control, and/or coordinate activities of workers engaged.
- Strong verbal and analytical skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
- Must be computer literate in Excel and Word.
- Manage time effectively and be self motivated.
- Will be able to arrive on time and ready to work.
- Willingness to work in a fast paced environment and at times in inclement weather.
- Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time and walking.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
This is a full-time, seasonal position February through June, with potential for more.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
