For more than 30 years, SCCS has provided care, counseling, coaching, and essential mental health services for children, teen, young adults, and their families. As specialists in the field of mental health, SCCS employees possess diverse professional skills equipping us as a team to treat each client’s unique needs.

As a Group Facilitator, you will provide direct prevention services to individuals, schools, and communities. You will engage community members through outreach and education in order to increase awareness and decrease the stigma of mental health issues and facilitate educational groups utilizing the approved curriculum.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
2. Must be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
3. Must be able to author and produce their own emails, letters, reports and other documents in a professional manner. That is, documents and correspondence should be relatively free of grammar and spelling errors.”
4. Ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels of employees within the organization, to include peers, co-workers and supervisors.
5. Must be detail oriented and have the ability to complete documentation in a timely manner.
6. Excellent time management, organizational and follow through skills.
7. Ability to appear to work every day and on time. Must have reliable transportation as travel up to 2 hours between office locations and within the community is required.
8. Ability to follow directions from a supervisor.
9. Ability to understand and follow posted, printed and/or electronic work rules and procedures.
10. Ability to accept constructive criticism in a respectful, open and interactive manner.
11. Experience working with people over the phone.
12. Must have the ability to perform efficiently and effectively with multiple interruptions.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manage and maintain positive relationship with assigned school and meet productivity standards.
2. Facilitate average of 16 classes per week
3. Participate in outreach events such as resource fairs- this may require weekend or evening hours.
4. Complete required documentation and paperwork.
5. Complete pre and post tests as well as provide classes with high fidelity to EBP.
6. Collaborate with team members and outside community agencies/schools.
7. Work autonomously to create engaging and interactive services for groups and presentations.

Requirements:

  • AA or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or Education-related fields is preferred.
  • Minimum 1-year experience working directly with children and youth.
  • Experience with PEI programs preferred.
  • Experience facilitating group services preferred.
  • Completion of CPR/First Aid/ProACT certification within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
  • Valid California Driver’s License in good standing and access to a vehicle that is registered with proof of auto insurance.
  • Clearance of our background check process, which includes fingerprinting, a physical, and drug screen.
