Be part of the fun and work for a Place Like No Other! Cedar Point is looking for applicants for the Group Event Coordinator and in our Group Sales Call Center. Ideal applicants should have professional communication and office skills and like to work in a fun and fast-paced environment. This seasonal position will work directly with the Group Sales Department on the booking and execution of the Corporate, Youth and Small Group catered and non-catered events. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: working as a liaison with both internal and external partners on the booking and execution of group sales business, fielding incoming calls and inputting reservations into our ticketing and catering systems, being a liaison with the catering department, attending company catered events, completing paperwork/data entry associated with all events, collecting and processing payments for group ticket programs, assisting with incremental sales to include catered meals, drink wristbands, parking, and other add-ons, contacting leads that have been submitted to Cedar Point Group Sales, communicating with guests via chat client, and providing support for Guest Services Communications Center as needed.
Responsibilities:
Group Sales Assistant:
  • Answer incoming calls and take small group and youth reservations in the Group Sales Call Center.
  • Provide accurate product and program information including suggesting up-sell products as appropriate.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy for information given and data entry for reservations.
  • Correspond via email with customers regarding website inquiries for information.
  • Review all internal memos and park planners to maintain a high level of knowledge for all group sales products, client events, and other general park and marketing information.
  • Participate in outbound cold calls and customer research for customer and event prospecting.
  • Assist with Group Sales Events in the park as needed.

Group Sales Event Coordinator:
  • Attends catered and non-catered events to act as the liaison for the Group Sales Dept. between the client and park catering/operation departments. This includes answering questions, providing solutions, and communicating effectively to ensure the event is successful for all attendees.
  • Assists with completing paperwork and data entry pertaining to pre-planning of events, confirming all information is accurate.
  • Assists outside Sales Reps. with administrative duties such as typing posters, creating gift baskets, and other requests as needed.
  • Prepares all paperwork and materials required prior to the start of events and completes a checklist on-site to verify readiness for the event.
  • Communicates directly with clients to provide detailed information regarding their upcoming event.
  • Attends interdepartmental meetings pertaining to events to communicate needs of upcoming events and results of past events.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while working collaboratively in both a team and independent setting
  • Utilize strong written and verbal communication skills and problem-solving skills in a service-oriented culture
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law
