Quasar is looking for a General Maintenance Person to join our team with a strong emphasis on experience in drywall, painting, and unit turnovers. The General Maintenance Person must be a quick-thinker, and a reliable individual who is able to multitask. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and committed to running a successful property management operation.

General Maintenance Person Job Specifications:

• Full Time (40 hours weekly)
• Shifts during normal business hours (9am-5pm) with weekend availability preferred
• Must live in the County we are advertising for, or within proximity, to be considered
• Coverage Areas for this job: The DC Metropolitan area with a primary focus on the following: MD – District Heights, Hyattsville, Potomac, and Silver Spring. DC – SE, and SW.

General Maintenance Person Core Responsibilities:

• Perform electrical repairs in community areas, including lights and laundry.
• Ensure mechanical equipment is in working order and fixed as necessary.
• Complete general building cleaning and maintenance.
• Install and replace floors, stairs and piping as needed.
• Repair and paint doors, windows, walls, ceilings, roofs, and other parts of the building.
• Maintain trash and recycling receptacles around the facility.
• Maintain and repair air conditioning and heating systems as required.

General Maintenance Person Preferred Skills:

• Ability to safely use common power and hand tools
• HVAC knowledge and repair skills
• Experience installing and replacing plumbing systems
• Strong communication skills with property management and tenants
• Self-starter with good time management skills

Education and Experience Requirements

• 2+ years of maintenance person, repair, or property management experience
• Ability to work independently or on a team
• Ability to learn our internal reporting and record keeping system
