Innkeeper's Coffee is a coffee house and local roastery founded in 1998. We have expanded our operations to full pastry, breakfast/brunch, lunch and dessert offerings. We are looking to hire a new Kitchen Manager and Head Chef to our business!

Our Kitchen Manager and Head Chef is the manager over our entire back-house operations, including our bakery (pastries and desserts), lunch and catering business. Due to the nature of our business model, our menu changes daily. Our Kitchen Manager and Head Chef will have the freedom and responsibility of constantly creating new and unique dishes prepared quickly for lunch service. Full job duties are as follows:

1. Prepare lunch offerings and train line cook to prepare and plate food as desired.

2. Cover bakery roles, if needed.

3. Receive sick calls and cover call-ins.

4. Learn general store operations.

5. Build a team spirit with pastry and front of the house crew.

6. Execute food ordering, including price comparison and vendor relations.

7. Manage supplies. (know what we have on hand and where it is and use what we have.)

8. Maintain food costs.

9. Maintain recipes and recipe books.

10. Work with owners to plan menus for pastry and lunch offerings.

11. Train and develop coworkers. Coach and review their performance. Interview and be involved in hiring of lunch employees.

12. Utilize existing staff by keeping them busy and cross training lunch cook and prep.

13. Take leadership and responsibility for housekeeping in the kitchen area. Delegate housekeeping tasks.

14. You must get sanitation certificate and follow local health codes and pass inspection. We have high expectations of our local health inspectiosn and would expect for that to continue.

15. Assist with development of the business, how we grow, change with new items, kitchen equipment, global big picture ideas.

The ideal candidate would have experience in all of these areas in a Kitchen Manager or Head Chef role.

This would be a set schedule job with set days off, small amounts of overtime necessary during seasonal increases. The daily schedule would require work from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM at our location in Galesburg, Illinois.

Pay: $32,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
