Your Future Team
The Head of Data Governance will partner and maintain effective relationships across the organization to create and implement a vision for the efficient management, control, and provisioning of high-quality data in support of actuarial modeling, analysis, and senior management decision-making.

  • Responsible for instantiating and running a data governance program which ensures data quality, availability, and interoperability of over $200b in reserves processed & housed across dozens of major administrative systems, actuarial/financial platforms, and data repositories
  • Continue to mature Corebridge Financial’s overall actuarial data strategy by implementing a data governance framework and roadmap that identifies and prioritizes data needs and data sources
  • Define the baseline operating environment, create the strategy for the target operating model, and develop the roadmap for achieving the target state
  • Responsible for operational oversight linking the data quality inbound and outbound to the impact on actuarial and non-actuarial processes
  • Improve how Corebridge Financial receives, uses, manages, and produces data for actuarial consumption; execute data quality and how we measure data integrity
  • Create key performance indicators (KPIs) to track data integrity and report non-compliance to the Data Council
  • Drive data innovation across the organization, promoting data sharing and data driven decision-making
  • Create a data driven culture across the organization through the following areas: innovation, automation, driving root cause analysis, and data analytics reporting/visualizations
  • Work with business partners to measure data quality and ensure data is managed appropriately
  • Partner with IT, continue to build out the Actuarial Data Repository (ADR), producing a single source of standardized data to be consumed for business, compliance, and regulatory efforts
  • Continuously drive data & knowledge sharing by provisioning functional and technical metadata to present a common understanding of data definitions, data ownership, and data lineage
  • Maintain knowledge of innovative tools and resources to improve data strategy and governance, simplifying the data landscape, including the sharing and reuse of data for cost optimization
  • Promote a data-driven culture through education of tools, methods, and repositories that help actuaries efficiently access and analyze data to make informed business decisions
  • Create business value through collaboration with leadership across the organization
  • Chair the Data Governance Steering Committee
  • Assist in assuring the firm is in compliance with all regulatory and actuarial ASOP requirements
What we are looking for
  • 7+ years of data management experience that includes building and maintaining a single source data lake and developing a data governance program
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or IT and/or equivalent work experience
  • Experience building data management and governance programs for financial services and/or insurance
  • Experience in delivering large data management programs within the finance/insurance space, such as operational data stores (ODS’s) and enterprise data warehouses (EDW)
  • Experience implementing, populating, and utilizing data dictionary tools, master data management tools, and data quality tools & techniques
  • A track record of delivering value to the business through data
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing a high-performing data team to support the business
  • Excellent organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize a data roadmap across all verticals within the business
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization

For positions based in California, the base salary range is $109,000-$153,000, which is based upon the assumption that the position is located in Los Angeles. However, the final base salary offered to a candidate may be higher or lower than the range depending on a number of factors, including the candidate’s specific work location. For positions based in New York City, the base salary range is $113,000-$160,000. This position is also eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
