Head Start Special Needs Aide - Rattan Job at LIFT Community Action Agency, Inc.
The Head Start Speical Needs Aide is responsible for the care, well-being, safety and education of a special needs child. The Special Needs Aide assist the Caregiver, Teacher and Teacher Assistant in creating and managing an attractive, warm and challenging learning environment for children. While incorporating appropriate early intervention, learning and care activities which meet the needs of the group as well as those of individual children and families.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following; Plan, formulate, coordinate and implement approprated special needs activities in accordance with performance standadrs and LEA (Local Educational Authority) agreements. Work with parent volunteers and work in a team setting with other staff to determine the needs of the child. Assist the Teacher in the classroom, help supervise field trips and recreational activites both in and out of the center. Provide information to parents regarding their child as well as general child development information.
Report to work at scheduled times, maintain good attendance. Perform all duties in a timely and professional manner. Keep accurante and current record as appropriate and keep all child and family information confidential.
