This Health Care Assistant position earns a competitive salary of $19.98/hour. This Health Care Assistant position is responsible to maintain a working relationship with health care professionals within the community and to provide health education and health care services for Head Start/Early Head Start children and families, and staff members. Maintain full compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, in addition to all federal and state laws & regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Medical Assistant and/or Certified Nursing Assistant required
• Two years of related experience required
• Medical Assistant preferred
• Phlebotomy certification preferred
• Certified CPR/First Aid Instructor preferred
• Head Start experience preferred
• Bilingual preferred
• Two years of child related experience preferred

JOB DUTIES

• Monitor health services for the program and supports the delivery of high-quality services to families and children in Head Start/ Early Head Start.
• Evaluate and implement health care plans, medication request and special meal requests for children with identified health needs, and ensure that all critical care needs have been accommodated for.
• Develop and deliver trainings to ensure that staff are properly trained to meet health needs of the children enrolled, CPR/First Aid Certified, and to ensure that staff are knowledgeable of Health systems and procedures.
• Monitor immunizations for all current and incoming children.
• Oversee completion of all 45 and 90-day screenings.
• Monitors and collaborates with community volunteers and teaching teams to ensure that dental and physicals exams are completed.
• Participate in and support community events as well as Health Clinics.
