Role and Responsibilities:

The Health Information Analyst will be responsible for identifying any missing information from the records.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Analyze inpatient and ambulatory surgery records to identify all incomplete items that require completion by a physician
  • Assign deficiencies to the correct physicians for completion according to the protocol established by each clinical service.
  • Assigns deficiencies thoroughly and with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Maintains production at expected rates.
  • Assists with monitoring physician compliance regarding deficiency completion.
  • Consistently work towards the analysis completion time frames established by management but not to exceed six business days from discharge.
  • Verifies that the H&P referenced by the OpTime H&P is in chart. When it is not present, ask Dr to dictate Operative note, H&P, and Discharge Summary.
  • Obtains and utilizes the reports to assist with accurate assignment of any outstanding dictation deficiencies.
  • Participate in reviewing and clearing records that are in the ES queue as needed.
  • Answers the phone within 3 rings.
  • Process all faxes received from HIM supervisor timely.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written).
  • Must possess social perceptiveness to assess and understand other’s reactions and behaviors.
  • Ability to operate a computer and basic software knowledge.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be computer literate and have good verbal and written communication skills. Hospital or related medical office experience preferred.
