Mechanic – Diesel / Forklift Technician

Territory:

This position is based out of Crown’s San Francisco branch location and will provide coverage to the surrounding areas.

Field Service Technician

Job Responsibilities:

  • 55-70% -Lift Truck and Equipment Repair Communicate daily with Field Service Manager, Field Service Supervisor, Dispatcher, or Customer Care Team to determine work schedule. Travel to customer locations. Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair Crown and all other makes of lift trucks and other equipment
  • 25-35% -Planned Maintenance Manage time around daily repair schedule to travel to customer locations to service and maintain lift trucks on the Planned Maintenance Program. Perform safety and operational tests. Confer with customer and review recommended follow-up repairs. Place parts orders and complete necessary planned maintenance paperwork.
  • 00-05% Maintain Service Van and Inventory
  • 03-08% Miscellaneous

Qualifications:
· Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills

· Good mechanical aptitude and good knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, hydraulics and internal combustion engines

· Must be familiar with tools and equipment such as common hand tools, electrical/air tools, torch, arc welder and various types of testing equipment

· Must be able to frequently lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lb, bend/stoop/twist, squat, reach below knee level, grip/grasp, work with arm outstretched, and work above chest level

· Must be able to occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 100 lb, reach above shoulder level, climb stairs, climb ladders, torque, use vibratory tools, and pinch grip

· Must be able to safely operate lift trucks and vehicles/service vans.

· Ability to distinguish colors preferred. Possible exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust, solvents, fuels, battery acid, and noise pollution.

· Valid driver's license, good driving record, and the ability to safely operate lift trucks for product demos
