- We are looking to hire an experienced Equipment Mechanic to inspect, service, and maintain our range of heavy equipment
- As a mechanic you will primarily work in the shop, however at times be responsible for inspecting engines and equipment, carrying out services, conducting repair and providing routine maintenance
- Run diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions
- Inspect vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts
- Repair or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines and other associated parts
- Conduct field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown
- Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance, Class A license preferred
- Completing oil changes, and brake checks
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems using industry standard test procedures and computer diagnostic equipment
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and crew
- Must be able to work overtime during busy season
- Welding / Fabricating
- Hydraulics / Pneumatics
- Assess/Inspect vehicles and/or machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues
- Maine State Inspection License preferred
- Maintain and clean garage equipment and tools to ensure they are always kept in a safe and usable condition
- Adhere to company work safety policies
- Routine lifting of equipment/repair parts
- Repetitive movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, is to be expected
- Ability to withstand occasional/constant extreme noise levels
- Use of hand/air tools
- Other tasks and duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
