Description:

• Interior and exterior foot patrols of the hospital completed hourly examining doors and windows, checking for intrusions, and making a presence to hospital staff.
• Use CCTV to prevent theft or damage of property.
• Provides special services to the U of U South Jordan Health Center, such as locking and unlocking offices, escorting individuals and assisting patrons and visitors with directions.
• Assists the Fire Department by responding to fire fighters and unlocking buildings and barriers to permit entry.
• Assist Police Department by investigating disturbances and referring the call to police if a violation of the law has occurred.
• Maintains appropriate logs within the Lighthouse app to advise supervisors and hospital administration of potential security problems.
• Conduct and support investigations into allegations of criminal acts, theft/property loss, assaults, workplace violence, and other activities that disrupt or have the potential to disrupt the delivery of healthcare and supporting operations.
• Assist hospital staff during medical emergencies by managing crowd control.
• Addresses patient/family/visitor aggression that disrupts or has potential to disrupt patient care or which threatens the safety of UHealth staff, patients, and visitors.
• Provide assistance to the hospital campus by responding to calls including building lock-downs, financial deposits, and vehicle assistance, as well as traffic and crowd control.
• Crisis Prevention Institute Foundations Course Certification, or willingness to obtain within 6 months.

• Basic certification from the International Association for Healthcare Safety and Security (I.A.H.S.S), or willingness to obtain within 6 months.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Possess a high-school diploma or GED.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a smart phone/tablet.
• Have a flexible schedule.
• Be able to complete the basic training, armed and continued education requirements (provided) for your State of Utah DOPL Security License.
• Possess intermediate working knowledge of computer applications including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite, security software, and multiple operating systems.
• Be comfortable with interfacing both with the general public and with the highest levels of local and state government -Be dynamic, innovative and professional.
• Be able to pass a background check and drug screen.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
