Mezzo Restaurant is looking for a mature host/hostess for Dinner shifts. Mezzo is a small very busy upscale casual restaurant that has an amazing team of people that work for Mezzo. We have a very strong and loyal customer base and we feel that Mezzo is a great place to work. We are looking for someone that wants to be a part of Mezzo's team. We are looking for a long term employee that loves working with people and has a strong work ethic. Looking for someone who has strong references.
Host: This position requires that you are at the front entrance of the restaurant greeting people as they enter in a friendly and outgoing way and then seating customers. Some of the other job responsibilities will be to answer phones, take reservations, enter reservations into our reservation management software, assist with table service by helping our servers with our customers. Our ideal applicant is a self starter, outgoing, friendly and is willing to jump in and help when the restaurant is busy. Prior restaurant experience is a must. For the evening hostess wine knowledge or a willingness to learn about wines is a plus. Hostess needs to be old enough to serve alcohol (21 years old++).
Hostess Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet and seat customers as they arrive
- Answer phones and take reservations
- Maintain an even distribution of tables for each waiter
- Work with the servers to accomodate guests in between greeting guests
- Talk to and be welcoming to our customers
Hostess Requirements and Qualifications
- Host/hostess experience (preferred)
- General restaurant or hospitality experience (preferred)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Stamina to stay on your feet for a full shift
- A positive and energetic demeanor
- FRIENDLY
