Description

The HP Indigo Digital Press Operator is a skilled technician whose role is to ensure that customers’ labels are produced correctly, efficiently and at the highest level of quality. The press operator is a key part of the production team and works cooperatively with others to ensure that our customers’ label specifications are met.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Produce high quality labels to meet the job specifications outlined on the label order docket
• Communicate job specific information and changes in a timely manner to minimize downtime
• Ensure that labels meet the customer signed proofs and color standards, eye for detail
• Report production or press issues to the pressroom supervisor
• Input data including time and materials used into job management software such as Label Traxx
• Maintain an organized and neat, orderly workspace
• Ensure any important job information is clearly passed on to the next phase of production
• Perform operator level maintenance at the direction of the Production Manager and troubleshoot press issues to keep the equipment running at an optimum level
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Production Manager
• Follow all applicable SOPs

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent. May include specialized classes beyond high school
• Has proficient understanding of principles in one or more functions. Typically possesses 3 years of relevant work experience
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to read, interpret and create simple correspondence and memos
• Knowledge of mechanics and hazard communication standards and material safety data sheets
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Properly uses safety gear, including ear protection, glasses, back-support belt and safety shoes as required or recommended
• Performs single function tasks that tend to be of moderate size and scope

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions

• Frequent exposure to manufacturing environment with one or more unpleasant or hazardous conditions including but not limited to exposure to dust, dirt, high noise levels, chemicals, etc. 21% to 50% of work time
• Incumbent constantly required to walk, stand, grasp, reach, push/pull, bend, stoop, twisting and use of manual dexterity for prolonged periods of time
• Incumbent regularly required to hear, speak, and use color vision
• Incumbent regularly required to carry and lift up to 75lbs.
• Work with rotating equipment, hazardous equipment, and safety sensitive equipment
