Human Resources Assistant Job at Queens Centers For Progress
Queens Centers for Progress, a non-profit agency providing services for adults and children with developmental disabilities, is seeking a Human Resources Recruiter.
Hours: 40 Hours
Position Summary:
Responsible for carrying out recruitment, hiring and on-boarding processes to ensure the gency maintains a skilled and diverse workforce to carry out its mission.
Responsibilities include:
- Participate in HR Recruiting process - schedule, set-up, and work at job fairs and open houses both on, off-site, and remote
- Perform phone screenings of applicants; schedule job interviews
- Facilitate the onboarding process which includes, but is not limited to:
o scheduling fingerprinting appointments for background checks
o carrying out reference checks and employment verifications
o preparing and distributing new hire packets and letters as necessary
o assisting staff as needed in filling out forms, answering questions
- Maintain HR files and databases in a systematic and orderly manner
- Respond to inquiries on current and previous employees
- Communicate information to staff and answer questions as needed
- Perform general office functions including photocopying, filing, faxing, data entry, etc.
- Assist HR team on special projects
Requirements:
HS/GED Diploma, BA/BS preferred. Minimum 2 years’ experience in HR Recruiting and standard HR office procedures.
