Job Description:

The Human Resources Associate is responsible for providing professional HR services across all departments of the organization. The Human Resources Associate will provide support, advice, and guidance, working with all levels of staff to build respectful working relationships, organizational efficiencies, and employee development. The HR Associate performs all duties with a high level of professionalism and tact, exhibiting strict confidentiality.

Role and Responsibilities

  • First point of contact for all employees regarding HR policies and procedures, benefits, workers' compensation, etc.
  • Conduct new hire orientation, process new hire paperwork; guide employees through orientation process.
  • Process all aspects of employee information from initial hire to termination including data entry into payroll and benefits carrier’s systems to ensure accurate recordkeeping.
  • Compile, update, and maintain employee records.
  • Maintain records of staff training and coordinate internal and external employee training activities within relevant departments.
  • Participates in various HR workflows (such as but not limited to I-9 forms, E-Verify, employee benefit programs, workers’ compensation claims, unemployment forms, etc.) by compiling, filing, and distributing appropriate electronic and physical paperwork.
  • Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, etc.)
  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resources programs, including, but not limited to; compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; recognition; occupational health and safety; etc.
  • Mitigates employee relation issues while adhering to company policy, state and federal laws and regulations ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of requests and questions.
  • Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Manages benefits program and vendor relationships. Assists employees with enrollments, questions, and concerns.
  • Conducts audits of benefits, personnel files and other HR programs and recommends corrective action. Implements corrective action as directed.
  • Continually works with department to streamline the hiring process and improve internal policies and practices.

  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Available for occasional travel to remote sites < 10%
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field desired or 4 years of HR experience.
  • SHRM-CP a plus.

Additional Notes
The work environment will require standing, sitting for extended periods of time, and working in an office environment with time spent in warehouse/yard where PPE may be required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
