Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree

3-5 years of experience in HR

Primary Job Duties

  • Administer compensation, benefits, employee relations, and performance management systems.
  • Oversee the development and administration of company safety programs, ensuring ongoing compliance with OSHA and state regulations.
  • Identify staff vacancies and recruit, interview, and select applicants, working closely with management.
  • Allocate human resources, ensuring appropriate matches between personnel.
  • Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion, and employee benefits.
  • Perform difficult staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing, mediating disputes, firing employees, and administering disciplinary procedures.
  • Advise managers on organizational policy matters, such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend needed changes.
  • Evaluate and recommend updates to compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Work with management to plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
  • Organize and oversee annual benefit renewals and employee open enrollment meetings.
  • Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, and helping resolve work-related problems.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and compliant employee records.
  • Investigate and report on workplace injuries for insurance carriers.
  • Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations as needed.
  • Develop and administer special projects in areas such as employee engagement, employee recognition, etc.
  • Continually evaluate the HR function and recommend changes and process improvements.

Knowledge

Personnel and Human Resources - Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.

English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Compliance - Knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local laws and regulations that pertain to all aspects of human resources and workplace safety.

Payroll Knowledge of robust payroll processing systems including Paychex and the Flex platform.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
