Human Resources Generalist Job at Nor-Cal Beverage
Medical benefits eligible first of the month following 28 days of employment. All other benefits eligible first of the month following 90 days of employment.
Summary : Under the general supervision of the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Generalist will assist in a wide range of Human Resources projects including recruitment, onboarding, human resources documentation and employee relations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Follow all safety procedures and work as safe as possible at all times.
- Talent acquisition for all exempt & non-exempt openings.
- Assist with onboarding of new associates: company introduction, benefits overview, and policy awareness.
- Develop and implement recruiting strategies.
- Identify and implement strategies to reduce turnover.
- Assist in the administration of company policies/procedures and regulations.
- Assist with investigating employee and manager complaints, regarding violations of company policies and standards of business conduct.
- Maintain compliance (reference checks, I-9 documentation and drug/alcohol testing).
- Assist with disciplinary corrective action process.
- Assist with employee and compliance training.
- File recruiting, personnel, medical and benefit paperwork in online filing system.
- Assist with leave of absence administration and tracking.
- Assist with inputting absences in UKG.
- Assist with absence management and creating attendance documentation.
- Assist with workers compensation claims management, including serving as a liaison between the company and insurance carrier, physicians and employees.
- Assist in making new hire packets for onboarding.
- Assist with Onboarding / New Hire Orientation.
- Assist with employee relations.
- Maintain a frequent presence on the production floor to encourage interaction with employees.
- Ensure communication boards are up to date.
- Ability to manage confidential information.
- General
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere and interaction with customers, co-workers, and management.
- Work scheduled shift, weekends, and extended hours as required.
- Regular and punctual attendance.
- All other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current driver’s license
Language Skills : English required, Spanish a plus.

Amount of Travel Involved : 10% (to Fullerton Distribution Center, as needed)

Work Environment : Office setting in a climate-controlled environment. Occasional visits into the manufacturing facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme cold or extreme heat when in the manufacturing facility. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but the employee may occasionally be exposed to high level noises including but not limited to manufacturing equipment.
