About the Role
The Human Resources Manager functions support the Sioux Falls PREMIER Bankcard location. This position maintains focusing on employee relations, talent development, retention, and human capital initiatives and policies. The role provides counsel to management to ensure legal compliance and consistency in all employee relations matters. Responsible for programs designed to attract, retain, and motivate a highly skilled workforce while ensuring compliance with governmental regulations while ensuring employee decisions are made in line with and in support of The PREMIER Way. This function directs the activities of the site Human Resource team(s), providing manpower support and overseeing the cultural and regulatory environment in accordance with PREMIER’s strategic plan and Vision, Views and Values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Based on role, responsible for enterprise and or specific area of responsibility as it relates to duties.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of existing policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revision as well as new plans that are cost effective and consistent with current trends and corporate objectives; coordinates implementation and provides guidance to staff.
  • Provides oversight and supervision of HR Staff at the Sioux Falls Bankcard location.
  • Coaches and consults with managers and employees on issues including performance management, terminations, career development, harassment, discrimination, FMLA and corrective action issues. Ensures proper HR procedures are followed and ensures compliance with employment laws and regulations
  • Provides advice and guidance to employees/management on the interpretation of PREMIER policies.
  • Ensure proper HR procedures are consistently followed by management and HR staff.
  • Responsible for the performance management process including reviewing performance reviews and providing feedback and consultation to managers.
  • Plays an important role in the development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, retention and development, and high performance.
  • Responsible for leave of absence and ADA Accommodation consultations, as needed. Consults with legal and HR leadership when questions/issues arise.
  • Utilizes the HRIS system to eliminate administrative tasks, empower employees, and meet the other needs of the organization
  • Maintain high-quality and consistent data that will be used across the company for key business decisions.
  • Present findings and creative solutions to key stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement effective processes to create clarity and a positive employee experience.
  • Supervises the participation in and conduct surveys to ensure corporate objectives are achieved.
  • Keeps apprised of federal, state and local laws and regulations in order to ensure company compliance.
  • This position manages all employees of the assigned department and is responsible for the hiring, performance management and life cycle of the employees within the department.
  • Ensure that policies, procedures and programs are in alignment with the organization’s overall strategic objectives: HR vision, trends, practices and costs.
  • Updates employee handbook and policies and develop and maintain compliance documentation.
  • Ability to make informed decision based on data and statistics.
  • Oversee the development and implementation HR policies and procedures; supervise the preparation and communication of information to current and former employees about new hire, termination, benefits, leave of absence and accommodation laws.
  • Partners with Total Rewards Managers for human capital projects and compliance needs.
  • Mentor and train HR staff on processes and professional practices within assigned areas.
  • Will represent the organization at different HR conferences or functions.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and/or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), strongly encourage SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SPHR).
  • Six to eight years’ of a progressively responsible experience in human resources preferred.
  • Knowledge of government regulations as they apply to human capital areas, company policies and operations.
  • Strong logical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Professional skill in communicating effectively with all levels of employees both verbally and in writing.
  • Exceptional presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines.
  • Capacity to learn, adapt to change, and become proficient quickly. Ability to handle stress, exercise self-control, adhere to company policies and procedures and uphold Vision, Views, and Values.
