Our client, a full-service Waste Collections and Recycling company is seeking a Human Resources Manager, 100% onsite in Austin, TX to join their dynamic team.
The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the HR Department and duties to include administrative and strategic responsibilities. Your HR experience in the trucking and/or transportation industry will complement this established organization."
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build partnerships with Leadership and hiring managers to determine staffing needs, develop and execute recruiting plans
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy. Monitor HR strategies, systems, and processes across the organization.
- Ensure alignment of recruiting activities with business goals and hiring objectives
- Ability to partner with local employment entities to facilitate large-scale recruitment events, host on-site interviews, job fairs and informational sessions
- Responsible for filling a minimum number of new hires on a weekly and monthly basis, while supplying time reports on recruiting activities (open requisitions, pipeline, time to fill, etc)
- Conduct full cycle recruitment all the way through the hiring processing on to termination
- Organizes and manages new employee orientations, on-boarding and training programs
- Administers and provides information on employee compensation program, benefits, recognition programs, and education
- Ensures legal compliance for human resource federal and state requirements, including timely reporting and detailed record keeping
- Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics
- Maintains accurate employee records and paperwork
- Answers employee questions and addresses employee concerns with the company including employee relations, welfare, wellness and health
- Oversees payroll processing and acts as backup payroll processor as needed
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues
- Ensures HR functions are current, making improvements to policies and procedures on a regular basis
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises assigned employees including staff selection and training; planning, assigning and directing work; conducting performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development
- Nurture a positive working environment
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Five to ten years of experience in Human Resources and Recruiting
- SHRM or Recruiting Certification preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
- Proficiency in compensation negotiations, working within applicant tracking systems and strong ability to assess talent
WORKING CONDITIONS/HOURS
- Generally this position is Monday -Friday 8am -5pm. Travel to other office locations is required:
- 1x per month - Lockhart, TX
- 1x per week - Round Rock, TX
